BE OPEN Art completed the second stage of the competition for emerging artists, aimed to support those whose art best represents their regional, cultural and ethnic identities – BE OPEN Regional Art.

Every month of the 2nd quarter of 2024, works by 20 emerging artists from the countries of Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen were posted at the online gallery for the public to select the Regional Artist of the Month.

Cyprus Handcrafted Heritage – Classes with BE OPEN and CVAR attended by 160 children from the Southern and Northern Cyprus

Over two days of April 22 and 23, the Centre of Visual Arts and Research in Nicosia welcomed 160 schoolchildren from the public schools of both the Southern and Northern parts of the island who took part in the educational sessions organized by BE OPEN Foundation dedicated to Cyprus Handcrafted Heritage.

This initiative was devised with the aim of popularization and preservation of traditional Cyprus fabric production techniques. Each session consisted of a lecture on craft-related entrepreneurship and a master-class of traditional Cypriot weaving.

Every month of the first quarter of 2024, works by 20 emerging artists from the countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan were posted at the online gallery for the public to select the Regional Artist of the Month.

In March, Yigitali Sattarov, Uzbek artist concerned about global issues, humanity and its future, has become the last of the three candidates for the Artist of the Region and the 500 euros prize, alongside Guzel Zakirova (Kazakhstan) in January and Zhyldyz Bekova (Kyrgyzstan) in February.
