BE OPEN’s SDG-focused design competition programme at the 2023 World Climate Industry EXPO

The WCE took place end of May at BEXCO in Busan, and presented the perfect ground for introducing Korean and international companies involved in the climate and energy sector, alongside government officials, representatives from international organizations, and academic professionals to BE OPEN’s SDG-focused programme and in particular the ongoing student design competition Better Energy by Design centered around the United Nations’ SDG7: Affordable and Clean Energy.

BE OPEN will host an exhibition in Cyprus to celebrate the emerging artists of the Eastern Mediterranean

BE OPEN Art is setting up an art exhibition in Nicosia, Cyprus, dedicated to celebrating the emerging artists of the Eastern Mediterranean will take place at the Centre of Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) and display the artworks selected by the public and BE OPEN community experts in the course of BE OPEN Regional Art competition, as well as a selection of visuals by young Cypriot artists.

BE OPEN Art launches the second stage of the regional competition to support emerging artists of the Caribbean

BE OPEN Art is running a new competition for emerging artists, aimed to support those whose art best represents their regional, cultural and ethnic identities. The second stage of BE OPEN Regional Art started to cover the countries of the Caribbean region over April – June 2023: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, etc.

Jovanna Theodosiou voted the Regional Artist of the Month in February

BE OPEN Art is happy to announce that Jovanna Theodosiou has been selected the Regional Artist of the month (February) by the highest number of votes of BE OPEN Art online gallery visitors. Jovanna studied Fine Art in Kingston University, UK, and currently lives and works in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Jovanna has become the second of the three candidates to the title of the Regional artist (Eastern Mediterranean), alongside Christina Kyriacou who gained the majority of votes in January.

Just in one more month, BE OPEN Art expert team will select the one winner who will be awarded a money prize of EUR500. Also, a selection of artworks best representing the Eastern Mediterranean (Cyprus, Turkey, the Greek Dodecanese islands, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Israel, Jordan and Egypt) will form an exhibition, in order to share the art with the wide public and celebrate the artists involved.
