Mark Whelan

CCO of Havas UK and global creative director of Havas Worldwide

Mark Whelan is the creative lead on major clients such as the Dove global digital account, Chinese mobile technology giant Huawei, Reckit Benkiser and Credit Suisse.

He was the founder and creative director of ground-breaking creative agency Cake, which became world famous for its innovative and pioneering approach to brand marketing and communications, winning Cannes Lions along the way.

Havas acquired Cake in 2008, with Mark making the transition into the main Havas agency in 2012, spending time in the New York office. Now CCO of the Havas London Village, he oversees creative output of both the creative and media agencies – the first combined appointment anywhere in the world.

Mark’s priority is to foster creative collaboration across all the many disciplines, which is already paying dividends for clients. His experience spans ad-funded television, global recording artist partnerships,  luxury fashion, creating major-scale televised live events, creating digital platforms, Ai and VR experiences, plus he was the creative director of the British Airways experience at the Olympic games.
