Maria Segrebondi is credited with resurrecting the now hugely successful Moleskine notebook brand. Today, she is the company’s vice-president. Since 2007, she has been its director of brand equity, influencing the way the brand is positioned and perceived. She also manages brand development projects involving the creation of social networks, offline and online.
In the past, she has collaborated on several training projects related to creativity and innovation intended for businesses and institutions. She is also an author who has written on subjects such as linguistics and writing in different fields, from creative writing to copywriting. She also taught at various universities from 1998 to 2007.
She sees the goal of Moleskine as similar to that of Be Open, namely sharing knowledge. ‘I want to be part of the Be Open project because sharing is important,’ she says. ‘In order to face the complexity of the world today and its economical and ecological problems, we need to have an open attitude. Be Open is a strong invitation to exchange ideas, projects, experiences. I hope this project will have a long life – and not just be a platform for VIP guests.’
