Namita Nathani, Principal Architect of RUBACON programme (India) and professor of Architecture at D.Y. Patil college of Architecture is an explorer at heart; after completing her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Aurangabad. She took time off to pursue her love for nature and art and voyagedIndiaexploring various aspects of its rich history, culture and traditions. She is currently a collaborating author at Indiaart n Design, a magazine that intends to showcase the happenings in the world of art and architecture and help people cultivate a taste for the creative and artistic. Her articles have gained great appreciation and critical applause. During her undergraduate years she won the University of Queensland’s summer research scholarship and was selected one of the only two students from the pool of thousand plus. There she got the opportunity to work for the renowned architect Luis Feduchi. While in Australia, she worked as a research assistant under Dr. Anupama Kundoo, who is one of the pioneers in the field of sustainable architecture. This experience gave her exposure to various international architectural styles and methodologies which have in turn had a great impact on her own outlook towards art and designing. She is a trained Indian classical dancer specialising in Bharatnatyam. She started learning at the young age of 8 and considers dance as a passion very close to her heart. She has taken professional training in Judo and is also an avid reader with special affinity for the Chicken Soup series.
