Massimiliano Alajmo

Italian chef
Massimiliano Alajmo is the youngest Italian chef ever to have been awarded three stars by the Michelin Guide. He received the award in 2002 for his family’s restaurant, Le Calandre in Sarmeola di Rubano, Padova, to which he has dedicated himself since returning to Italy in 1993. Le Calandre received its first Michelin star whilst it was being run by Alajmo’s mother, Rita Chimetto in 1992, with a second star awarded in 1996. Achieving the third star confirms Alajmo as one of the greatest chefs in Europe. Prior to this, Alajmo had decided to widen his experience of the culinary world, working first in Marc Veyrat’s Auberge de l’Eridan in Veyrier du Lac d’Annecy (1992) and then at Michel Guérard’s Les Prés d’Eugénie in Eugénie les Bains (1993).
